It looks like maybe Andrea might be asked to remain on the case? I'm pretty sure she would rather see it to its end. This is very likely going to send Coburn into fits, and spasms.
*edit: I like how the sky is getting progressively brighter as the morning goes on. :D

If I'm reading this page right, it seems the wording of the treaty may allow this if the Epiphytes don't remove the body from NT yet. Andrea said "Once you take her home, our part in the case is over."
I suspect that the option (per the Treaty) lies with the Epiphytes. If the Epiphytes want to take her home and wash their hands of the investigation, New Troy is bound by treaty to respect their wishes. However, if the Epiphytes wish to continue an investigation of violence committed against one of their own on foreign soil (i.e., New Troy), they have the option to negotiate with the locals to continue the investigation, and to retain local contractors to perform various tasks relevant thereto. Of course, that means more forms for Britta to fill out. ^_^
Just my opinion, of course.
Maybe they will initiate parallel investigations, forming different teams -- each of which gets part of Galatea's corpse to use as a starting point? EDICT gets Galatea's cranium, of course, as head investigator. Det. Valorian gets Galatea's left elbow as part of a joint task force. And so on, ... ^_^
" If the Epiphytes want to take her home and wash their hands of the investigation, New Rome is bound by treaty to respect their wishes."
I think I agree with you, but this sentence is confusing. I believe you meant "New Troy", and that the Epiphytes would continue the investigation on their own, since they did express wishes of having it continued in some fashion or other. As @Rocket Fueled mentioned, I think that the treaty allows for both sides to agree on a course of action, and in a case of disagreement, the the wishes of the party to whom the citizen belonged, would have final say. Obviously, I haven't read the treaty, so this is just my interpretation of what was said.
@Centcomm, yes, I think that last bit was humorous. LOL
Almost everything within New Troy is recycled. This is both for organics and inorganics, btw. The recyclers effectively act as a waste management plant for organics, both human wastes and left over organics from other sources.
The recyclers are a good way of getting rid of bodies if you can hack them effectively. The people who killed the Ambassador did not hack it completely. At least in the RP.
As for inorganic recycling, there are few functioning mines currently on Earth. As I understand it, the major cities recycle as best they can and are good markets for salvage from the wastes. Of course, the logistics of getting the salvage to the cities is the major barrier for most people. I would imagine that by this point most of the smaller piles of salvage have been gone through and what remains are the ruins of the larger cities from before the war. Having said this, the occasional vehicle and other small buried prize still abound in the wastes. Just the easy to get stuff is like gone.
It's commendable that Valorian knows the boundaries she's not supposed to cross and she honors them, but it's very satisfying to know that she is still keen on seeing justice done. She's my kind of person. :)
Well, the examiners and whatnot have shown themselves to be both skilled and respectful - and to be fair, they're probably more knowledgeable about terrain technology than the Epiphytes would be.
So IMO, it makes sense that they'd ask them to help with continued efforts. =3
Britta Coburn is irritating, closed-minded, bigoted, and distasteful, and it's unlikely I'd ever be friends with her, but I don't wish her harm. I simply would rather keep her as far away as possible.
For an investigation like this I'd think that Edict would be the one that Andrea is partnered with. But Britta might still be stuck doing the paperwork because she was there on this roof.
And thus everybody's day is ruined. Except ours. ;)
Running joke (at least in my head). Back when Kiku almost died I commented that If Edict couldn't fix her I get out my torch and turn him into a monster truck fender.
Edict is much faster than the doc with the autopsy...
@alt text: yeah, she wants to see the case through...
Triply so, I suspect, if they are a researcher FOR JUSTICE!

I 100% agree, I've been loving watching the sky and skyline in this sequence so far.

They found her in a compost heap??

Oddly, I don't particularly want her hurt, though. She is a good foil to Andrea, after all.

(Nice to see ya though, @DLKmusic) :D
